George has spent his career solving problems. Over the past 20 years, he has helped lead NASA to new heights as Chief of Staff, created hundreds of quality jobs in the Antelope Valley as CEO of Virgin Galactic, and supported front-line responders and public health through his work on the wildfire crisis.
George worked on President Obama’s transition team in 2008, and then served as Chief of Staff for NASA for the Obama administration. George was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the agency’s highest honor. George led the reform of NASA to enable current U.S. space leadership.
George is running for California’s 27th Congressional District which is currently represented by Republican Mike Garcia. It was one of 18 districts that voted for President Biden in the 2020 election while being won or held by a Republican in 2022 and the only Republican-held congressional district in LA County. Republicans only carried this seat in 2020 by 333 votes making this seat a top target for Democrats in their effort to retake the House next November.
