A pulmonologist by training, Dr. Maxine Dexter is running to replace retiring Congressman Earl Blumenauer in OR-03. Dexter, who worked on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic as an I.C.U. physician, has seen the devastating affect of GOP attacks on science, medicine, and vaccines first-hand.
As a two term legislator, she will continue her influential legislative career with a run for Congress. In 2023, Maxine chaired the House Committee on Housing and Homelessness where she used her background in medicine to play a significant role in passing an omnibus bill aimed at reducing overdose deaths by expanding access to Naloxone.
