DR. SHAH IS AN EMERGENCY ROOM PHYSICIAN AND FORMER STATE REPRESENTATIVE WITH A TRACK RECORD OF WORKING ACROSS THE AISLE TO GET THINGS DONE
(PHILADELPHIA, PA) — Today, 314 Action Fund, the premier organization electing Democratic scientists to public office, endorsed Dr. Amish Shah, an Emergency Room Physician and former Arizona State Representative versus endangered extremist Rep. David Schweikert in Arizona’s 1st Congressional district. This was one of the closest U.S. House races in 2022, decided by a razor thin 0.8% margin.
“314 Action Fund is proud to endorse Dr. Amish Shah because as a Physician and State Representative, Amish always put the interests of his patients and constituents before politics, and found ways to deliver results that improve the lives of ordinary people,” said Shaughnessy Naughton, Founder and President of 314 Action. “In the Arizona legislature, he was one of the most bipartisan legislators where he worked with Democrats and Republicans to lower health care, help secure our border, and get things done and that’s what he’ll do when he gets to Washington.”
“The choice is clear for voters in this race. On one hand we have Dr. Shah, who will stand up to fight for abortion rights and women’s reproductive freedoms, safeguard our democracy, and use data and facts to make informed policy decisions. On the other hand, Rep. David Schweikert is an extremist who wants to ban abortions and cut Social Security, and even opposed a $35 cap on insulin costs while lining his own pockets at the expense of taxpayers.”
“I’m honored to have 314 Action Fund’s support in our fight to protect women’s reproductive freedoms, secure and protect our southern border, and make data-informed decisions to get results,” said Dr. Amish Shah. “314 Action has a proven track record of electing physicians to public office, and I’m grateful to partner with them to defeat another extremist in Congress this November.”
